Child and Adolescent Psychology Sessions

All children are superheroes!

Like all superheroes, children and adolescents are unique! Some children need more support with coping with the day-to-day challenges of “growing up”. At Courageous Kids Psychology, we tailor our approach to suit each child, adolescent and family. We believe it is important to take a playful approach to work with children and incorporate evidence-based therapeutic techniques through play, games, and fun activities.

Our treatment approach is individualised for each client.

We provide assessment and treatment for children and adolescents aged from pre-school to 24-years, who are experiencing a range of development, emotional, behavioural and/or social difficulties including but not limited to:

• Anxiety
• Depression
• Attention and concentration difficulties
• Emotional regulation
• Behavioural difficulties
• Social, play and/or friendship difficulties
• Sleep, eating, or toileting issues
• Adjustment to stressful or traumatic events, life changes or coping with stress
• Parental separation or divorce
• Grief and loss
• Learning difficulties or school issues including school avoidance
• Developmental delay and Autism Spectrum Disorders
• Body image and self-esteem
• Managing medical conditions

Teens wear capes too!

When working with adolescents and young adults, we have a warm approach and build a supportive working relationship through understanding, respectful conversations, and the provision of helpful strategies.

We also work with parents, schools, and other health professionals where appropriate, to build a shared understanding of difficulties and to develop a support system around the young person to help them overcome challenges and create meaningful change.
